Let’s go, here are the best fountains in Paris that you shouldn’t miss on your next visit as well as a location map to print and bring with you during your trip!

⛲ St Sulpice Fountain

The most beautiful fountain of Paris in my opinion! This fountain is located in the 6th arrondissement, right in front of the St Sulpice church, which is also a spot you should visit. This fountain rises 12 meters high and there are four lions at the corners. The fountain dates back to the 1840s and was restored in 2008. In the area, you will also be near the Jardin du Luxembourg, and surrounded by small independent stores and brands that are worth checking out.
📍 Place St Sulpice, 75006 Paris

⛲ The Fountains of the Place de la Concorde

On the Place de la Concorde, where King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were beheaded in 1793, you will find two beautiful fountains: the Fountain of the Seas (Fontaine des Mers) and the Fountain of the Rivers (Fontaine des Fleuves). They are made of iron with golden details, as you stand in the middle of the square you can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance on one side, the Assemblée Nationale on another, and the church of the Madeleine on a third side. Between the two fountains stands an Obelisk given by Egypt to France in the 1830s. The fountains are on in the summer, but not in the winter.

⛲ The St Michel Fountain

St Michel, near Notre Dame, if one of my favourite areas of Paris. It’s the university quarter and there are a lot of restaurants and bars, with the river Seine running in the middle. On St Michel square, you can’t miss the St Michel fountain, that stands on the wall. What I love most about the fountain is its beautiful red marble columns. Fun fact though: the fountain wasn’t very well received when it was built in 1860! It was thought that there were too many styles mixed together for it to be tasteful. Today, the fountain is a meeting point for guided tours of Paris, but also a place where friends meet, where street performers and musicians play – it’s a very lively spot!

⛲ Fountains in the Tuileries and Luxembourg Gardens

The Jardin du Luxembourg and Jardin des Tuileries are beautiful parks that you shoudln’t miss when you visit Paris. In both, you will find circular fountains in which children sail little wooden boats and ducks swim around. These fountains aren’t particularly impressive or unique, but sitting at the edge of the water on a sunny day is a Parisian habit that you give a try at least once!

⛲ The Trocadero fountain near the Eiffel Tower

Many people wold say the best place to see the Eiffel Tower is from the Trocadéro. There, when you go down the stairs, you can see the impressive Trocadéro fountain (also called the Warsaw fountain). When it’s on, the fountain is very impressive, with water canons projecting water all the way to the end of the fountain, towards the Eifeel tower. It isn’t turned on as frequently, however you have more chances to see it won during the summer months.
📍 Fontaine du Trocadéro, Place de Varsovie, 75016 Paris

⛲ The Fountain of the Observatory

This beautiful fountain is another example of stunning architecture, and reminds me of the fountains at the Place de la Concorde. It is also called the Fountain of the Four-Parts-Of-The-World and is made out of bronze. The statues at the four corners represent Africa, Europe, Asia and America. This fountain is a great starting point to visit the Luxembourg Gardens, as it sands at one end of the park that leads into it, under a canopy of trees. This fountain is best to be seen in the late spring, summer or autumn.
📍 Fontaine des Quatre-Parties-du-Monde, avenue de l’Observatoire, 75006 Paris
