Visit these great spots to take your most beautiful pictures in the city!

As we all know already, Paris is a beautiful city. When travelling there, people will want to take pretty pictures, in pretty locations, and there are plenty to work with! If you look up Paris locations on Instagram, you are likely to see most of the super famous photo spots – Rue de l’Université, the Buren Columns, Parisian balconies looking over the Eiffel tower…
In this post, I would like to share about some Paris photo spots that aren’t as crowded and popular, but where you will take beautiful pictures on your next trip to the city. Keep this blog post in your favourites for your future trip to Paris!

👑 The Golden Gate of the Petit Palais Museum

If you ask me what the most beautiful door in Paris is, I will direct you there! The Petit Palais is a beautiful (and free for everyone!) museum. It is worth visiting for its permanent exhibition and round courtyard, but if you want to take an amazing picture in front of the golden door, you need to come in the morning, before opening time, or on Mondays when the museum is closed.
📍 Petit Palais, Avenue Winston Churchill, 75018 Paris
🚇 Metro Line 1 and 13, Champs Elysées Clémenceau

I am standing in front of the imposing golden gate of the Petit Palais museum in Paris, France. The gate is very intricate. I am wearing a black midi dress.

📚 The Shakespeare & Co Bookshop

The Shakespeare & Company bookshop is one of the several English bookshops in Paris. It is the most picturesque one, with its old medieval interiors, old-fashioned ladders to reach the highest shelves, first floor full of antique books… Even if you’re not buying anything, the bookshop is worth visiting. However pictures are forbidden inside, and if like me you want to be respectful of the rules, you can still take beautiful pictures outside! Visit the bookshop before opening time (before 11am) to take cute pictures with the famous green sign. If you visit Paris in the spring, the cherry blossoms will be in full bloom making for an even nicer picture!
📍 Shakespeare & Co, 37 rue de la Bûcherie, 75005 Paris
🚇 Metro Line 4 or RER B, St Michel

🖼️ The Cour Carrée of the Louvre Museum

Everyone wants to take a picture in front of the famous pyramid at the Louvre. But isn’t the architecture of the actual buildings more stunning? Also, chances are there will be huge crowds at the pyramid trying to get the perfect shot. So I suggest that you walk to the Cour Carrée, the courtyard right at the back of the pyramid. There, you will find fewer people, and a beautiful backdrop for photos.
I love using the long benches and the beige doors as ‘props’ in the pictures. It gives them a vintage feel, with the statues and columns in the background.
📍 Cour Carrée, Musée du Louvre
🚇 Metro Line 1, Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre

I am standing on a bench in front of the Louvre Museum building in Paris, France. I am wearing a green cottagecore dress and a chequered knitted cardigan. My skirt is flowing in the wind. Behind me are some statues and columns of neoclassical architecture.

🌉 Near the Seine River between the Pont au Change and the Pont Neuf

I am sharing this very specific location because I took one of my favourite Paris photos there last year! I find that the area between these two bridges (Pont au Change and Pont Neuf, ‘pont’ means ‘bridge) is perfect because you can see the river below, but also typical Parisian buildings in the background.
For a similar picture, you could also take the picture near the Conciergerie building, a short walk away from that spot.

⛲ Saint Sulpice Fountain, in the summer

I have written a whole blog post about beautiful fountains in Paris. The St Sulpice fountain is my favourite because of its impressive size and the church behind it. In the summer, the water is on, making for a stunning and not-too-crowded picture or video spot!
📍 Fontaine Saint Sulpice, 76 rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris
🚇 Metro Line 4 Saint Sulpice, or Line 10 Mabillon

I am standing in front of the Saint Sulpice fountain in Paris, France. I am wearing a blue midi skirt and crop top, it is the summer and the sky is blue. The water is running in the fountain.
