This post is for the summer lovers out there… If you’re sad that autumn is coming, read on!

Although I am happy that autumn is here, I see many people around who wish it were still summer. In a way I feel you! The longer days, the sunshine and warm air outside, the drinks with friends… There is so much to love about the summer! As the air gets cooler now in the northern hemisphere, here’s how you can make the summer season last longer… Put your swimsuit on and let’s get reading!

Keep drinking cool, refreshing drinks

Although autumn is the season of pumpkin spice latte and other warming drinks, if you want to feel like summer never ends, keep on drinking your iced coffee and lemonade. They will always taste as good and are a great way to remember your summer days. You could even drink your favourite autumn drinks, iced. Writing this, an iced mocha sounds heavenly to me right now! Here’s a great iced coffee recipe to try!

Listen to your favourite summer songs for a trip down memory lane

There are some songs that will always remind us of our past summers. To keep yourself in a happy, uplifted mood, listen to your favourite summer songs often, have a dance party in your room… Whenever I listen to old summer hits from the 2000s I always feel in the best mood. There are many great playlists you can listen to on Spotify.

Put a bouquet of bright, happy flowers in your home

Flowers always brighten up a home – on the dining-table, on a desk, in the bedroom… The more colourful, the better! Not all flowers are available all year around, but in the autumn you can still find beautiful blooms, like sunflowers and roses, that will bring pieces of summer into your home. A tip if you don’t want to spend too much money on flowers: look into dried flowers! They’re all the rage at the moment and will last you a lot longer than a fresh bouquet.

Use self-tan to enhance your summer skin

In the summer, a lot of people (including myself) enjoy having warm, sunkissed skin. When I was younger I used to sunbathe, however I have thankfully stopped since then and I absolutely recommend that you never sunbathe either! It’s a risk not worth taking, especially when you can use fake tan. Bali Body sent me a bundle of their iconic self-tanning products to review – and I was excited, as I had never used self-tan before!

Bali Body is an Australian brand, specialised in tanning products (body care and skin care). Their products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, and they can boast amazing reviews online. I have loved using their Gradual Tan Moisturiser and their Face Tan Water, paired together. Both are clear, you apply them on dry, clean skin and the next day you will have a noticeable tan. The Gradual Tan Moisturiser has to be applied carefully around the hands and wrists to avoid a difference in skin pigmentation. The Self Tanning Mousse will give you darker skin, and needs to be applied with the Luxe Tanning Mitt.
I’m excited to have golden skin all autumn and winter around thanks to Bali Body. After all, it’s almost summer in the southern hemisphere!

Are you excited about autumn or would you prefer summer to stick around?
