The mask that gives away your coffee addiction.

Coffee is not only a great hot drink to have, it’s also a great element for skincare. Coffee grains are a good scrub, they clear the skin and stimulate it. As an absolute coffee addict, I had to try the Lush Cup O’Coffee face and body mask. It’s been out for a while now and I only heard good things about it, so I recently picked it up.

It is not a fresh mask, so no need to worry about keeping it in the fridge. My advice would be to store it in a cool place, because the oil/agave syrup (as you can see from the photo) separates from the rest of the scrub when it’s exposed to warmth. However it doesn’t alter the quality of the mask at all!

I use this mask once of twice a week, leaving it for about ten minutes of the skin and then rubbing it off gently with tepid water. Two great things about the mask:

– it doesn’t dry out completely on your face, so there are absolutely no risks of dry or rough patches,

– the little coffee grounds are great for exfoliating, as they are tiny so no risk of damaging the skin or feeling uncomfortable, but there are enough of them to actually give a good, effective scrub to the skin.

Give your skin a nice massage as you rub the mask off, it’ll feel relaxing and make your skin look even smoother and exfoliated. When you rinse off the product, it’s going to be a little messy, but the result is well worth it: your skin appears bright, soft and clean. It’s a great mask to do in the morning if you have enough time, otherwise it works well as an evening cleansing mask as well.

As it says on the label, you can also use this mask on your body, but for obvious, product-saving reasons I haven’t tried that. However, I read a post once from a blogger who used a pot of Cup O’Coffee to scrub her whole body, and she said she had no regrets at all. So maybe coffee body scrubs will be the next step for me. One can never have enough coffee!

Have you tried this Lush mask? What is your favourite energising face scrub?

Lots of love,
