Daffodils, cherry blossoms, magnolia, wisteria, tulips… Visit these locations in Paris to see the best spring flowers!
Visiting Paris in the spring? There are so many places where you can find pretty spring flowers. From daffodils in March to cherry blossoms in April and wisteria in May, here are the top spots you should check out in Paris to see the blooming spring flowers and take your best photos! 📸
🌷 Jardin du Palais Royal : daffodils, magnolia and tulips
The Jardin du Palais Royal is small, but a general favourite among Parisians. The flowers there change regularly during the spring: they plant daffodils and tulips, but there are also some rose bushes worth checking out in the later part of spring. No cherry trees there, but there are a few beautiful magnolia trees that bloom early in the spring and are the first signs of the season!
In the Jardin du Palais Royal, you can read a book sitting by the fountain in one of the typical green garden chairs, you can play boules with friends, and you can grab a coffee at Café Kitsuné. Before you leave, don’t forget to take a cool picture at the famous Colonnes de Buren!

🌸 Jardin des Plantes: the biggest cherry blossom trees in Paris!
The Jardin des Plantes is a real gem, and not as well-known as other parks in the city. It is worth visiting all year around, but in spring, the garden turns into a cherry blossom paradise. This year, the flowers bloomed from beginning to mid-April. In the Jardin des Plantes, you will find several beautiful cherry blossom trees, among which a giant tree, bigger than any other one you’ve ever seen – I can guarantee you that!
The giant cherry blossom tree is quite famous so if you plan on visiting, go early at opening time. Other than the cherry trees, there are other wonderful flowers worth visiting in the Jardin des Plantes: a small but sweet peony garden, the Alpine garden full of gorgeous plants and woodland flowers, and colour-coordinated flowerbeds with name tags for each flower, so you are sure to discover some new wonderful plants on your visit!

🌺 Grande Mosquée de Paris: Moroccan-style architecture and walls of wisteria
Everyone visits churches in Paris, but did you know you can also visit the Grande Mosquée? This Mosque is located right next to the Jardin des Plantes above. The Mosque welcomes visitors to see the garden and courtyard, beautifully decorated with plants, fountains and incredible mosaics. In late April, wisteria blooms at the Mosque and creates a truly magical atmosphere, making you feel like you’ve stepped in a fairytale garden. Parts of the walls are covered in sweet-smelling wisteria – a feast for the eyes and the nose!
When you visit, remember to cover your arms and legs to show respect as this is a place of worship.

🌿 Cité Florale: visit Wisteria Street and see the countryside in Paris
Cité Florale is a tiny tiny area, located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris – a very residential area, away from most of the famous landmarks, so the whole area remains very quiet. The Cité Florale is a floral wonderland, which houses decorated with flowers and delightful little gardens. On Rue des Glycines (literally translated as “Wisteria Street”) you will find one of the most impressive wisteria plants of Paris! It stands really high on the wall of a cute house.
If you do visit the Cité Florale, remember that it is a residential area and that you will have to respect the tranquility of the residents as well as their privacy.

🌷 Jardin des Tuileries: for colourful flower displays near the Louvre Museum
Much like the Jardin du Palais Royal, the Jardin des Tuileries is a great spot to sit by a fountain and hang out with friends, read a book, or have lunch. These gardens, close to the Louvre Museum, are decorated with beautiful flowerbeds in the spring. There are many colourful species of flowers to spot there, but my favourite are of course the daffodils. Check out the sea of daffodils below – it is located right outside the Jardin des Tuileries, near the Arc de Triomphe du Caroussel and its rich pink marble…

🌼 Parc Départemental Georges-Valbon: the best hidden spot for pink blossoms outside Paris
This last one, you probably won’t find in any other Paris guide or Instagram hotspot guide. The reason why? Well, because the Parc Départemental Georges-Valbon is located in the northern suburbs of Paris, an area which tends to scare off many, even among the population in Paris and its surrounding. This park is actually a ten-minute walk from where I live, and I can tell you it’s a truly beautiful place!
In early April, a whole area of the park turns pink as the trees all bloom together, making for the perfect photo and picnic spot. And because this park isn’t on any tourist list, you will only see locals there, enjoying the blossoms. Apart for the blossoms, the Parc Départemental Georges-Valbon is a wonderful destination for long walks, bike rides, wildlife spotting (you can see ducklings in the lake in May)…
If you ever visit Paris in April, message me (juliaspeaksbeauty@gmail.com or via Instagram DM) and I will let you know whether the blossoms are still there!
