Spring photography of a big cherry blossom tree in bloom. There are pink fluffy flowers everywhere. There are white clouds in the bright blue sky. I am standing in front of the cherry blossom tree, my pink skirt is twirling as I touch the cherry blossoms.

There’s a simple joy in living according to the seasons. Let’s celebrate spring and all it has to offer!

After a long and dark winter, there’s nothing more comforting than seeing the first signs of spring outside. The days are longer, flowers start to blossom on the bare trees, daffodils pop out from the earth in a sea of yellow… Spring is my favourite seasons. This year, I have truly embraced spring activities and slow living. This makes me grateful for the smaller things every single day. Here’s how you can do it too, and make this spring more special than any other!

🌸 Go on nature walks

Right around the month of March, or even late February if we’re lucky, we can go on our first spring nature walks. Even though it’s still cold outside, seeing the first leaves on the trees and the first flowers blossom gives me such hopes for the rest of the year to come. On a nature walk, you can spot the flower blossoms and keep track of them, from the March daffodils to the April tulips and patches of daisies. Right around May and June, ducklings are born and you can feed the ducks at the lake. If it’s warm enough, you could even go for a picnic!

🌸 Buy yourself flowers

The best way to bring spring into our homes is to get ourselves some flowers! A pretty bouquet will brighten any room instantly. They also make for a lovely present to give someone else. This year I have bought mimosa and gypsophila, daffodils, of course, and roses. In the next couple months I would love to get tulips and peonies. If you prefer flowers that will last you longer than an ordinary bouquet, try dried flowers. They have been very popular recently and many florists now have a wide variety of dried floweers to choose from!

🌸 Indulge in spring baking and spring treats

When I think about spring, I imagine sweet treats, fluffy cakes, fruit, light picnics… I see a table laid out with strawberries, pancakes, fresh pastries and flavourful coffee. Since the sun is out, why not celebrate with a happy spring brunch? There are many wonderful recipes and inspiraiton pictures on Pinterest for spring baking recipes. Want to go the extra mile? Pick out some daisies in the park and decorate your freshly baked goodies with them. It’s time to get creative!

🌸 Spring fashion switches

To me, spring fashion is all about light colours and flowy fabrics. This year I have enjoyed wearing midi skirts and dresses that twirl, light jumpers, shirts… Fabrics like cotton and linen. Floral prints are also welcome, as cliché as they may be! I have written a whole blog post about my spring fashion staples – click here to read.
This season I also enjoy wearing flower headbands and bows in my hair. You can find beautiful handmade hair accessories on Etsy. When buying new items, remember to buy consciously, from ethical brands and independent creators if you can.

I see spring as a season where we can truly enjoy the simple joys of nature and life, get rid of the unnecessary, and try our hand at slow living a little more. 🍃
